What we design

S‑01

2D Land Survey Design

Line layout, group interval, shot interval and spread design for regional and reconnaissance programmes.

S‑02

3D Land Survey Design

Orthogonal, brick, slant, zig‑zag or MegaBin templates selected from bin, fold, offset and azimuth analysis.

S‑03

Marine Streamer & OBN

Towed streamer (NAZ / WAZ), ocean‑bottom node and coil shooting with infill strategy and feathering tolerances.

S‑04

Parameter & Illumination Study

Ray‑trace and wave‑equation modelling on a geological model to check illumination at the target horizon before committing to acquisition.

S‑05

Survey QC & Re‑design

Audit of existing designs, coverage gap assessment and leaner re‑designs that keep image quality intact.

S‑06

Cost Estimate & Tender Support

Shot, receiver and crew‑day counts, plus technical specifications for tender documents.

Workflow

Six steps, in order

01

Objectives

Target horizons, depth, maximum dip, feature size to resolve, and existing data inventory.

02

Geological model

Velocity and structural model built from wells and legacy seismic, used for all parameter calculations.

03

Parameter analysis

Bin size, fold, Xmin / Xmax, record length, sample rate and azimuth requirements.

04

Geometry design

Template, line spacing, patch and roll, adjusted around obstacles using GIS layers.

05

Illumination modelling

Ray tracing on the model; coverage at target compared across two or three scenarios against cost.

06

Deliverables

SPS / SEG‑P1, maps, report, crew specification and editable project files.

Analysis tool kits

Analysis tool kits

Bin size analysis

Largest bin that avoids spatial aliasing of the steepest dip.

—Max bin size (m)

b = Vint / (4 · fmax · sin θ)

Vertical resolution

Thinnest bed resolvable at the dominant frequency (quarter‑wavelength rule).

—Wavelength λ (m)
—Resolution λ/4 (m)

λ = Vint / fdom  ·  Rv = λ / 4

Horizontal resolution

Fresnel zone before migration and the limit after migration.

—Fresnel radius (m)
—Post‑migration λ/2 (m)

rF = √(z · λ / 2)  ·  Rh = λ / 2
